Cascara
It has a long tradition of being used as a laxative. Its main mechanism of action is that it increases the peristalsis of the large intestine. Its bitter components such as aloins also help stimulate digestion.

Dandelion Root
Dandelion supplies a wide variety of nutrients including chlorine, inulin, pectin and carotenoid. Studies have shown it to possess the ability to help with clinical conditions such as liver congestion, bile duct inflammation, hepatitis, gallstones and jaundice.1

Goldenseal
Berberine an isoquinoline alkaloid found in Goldenseal is antimicrobial effective against a wide range of gastrointestinal organisms.2 As a result, it is commonly used to treat bacterial diarrhea and Candida overgrowth.

Magnesium
Magnesium functions in the gastrointestinal tract much like it does within musculoskeletal system. If the body is deficient in magnesium, then it commonly exhibits the signs and symptoms associated with cramping. If the bowel is cramping and unable to relax, the normal peristaltic wave cannot occur, and elimination of waste material is slowed.

Senna
Senna functions as a stimulant laxative. Its active ingredient is anthraquinone. It currently ranks among the most popular non-fiber products sold.

Tips for detoxification:
Avoid constipation and endeavor to have 2-3 bowel movements per day. Limit all pesticide and herbicide contaminated foods. Drink 6-8 glasses of filtered water per day. Lessen or avoid caffeine, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Limit fried foods, and processed foods, especially colored foods.
